It’s early April and the weather is beautiful. Having planned many children’s birthday parties over the years, I know how unpredictable the weather can be this time of the year. It’s great to have the windows open but I’m not used to having all the extra noise from all my neighbors doing yard work.
It’s day 5 of me posting what I am grateful for. It’s been a good exercise of writing everyday and positing. Plus in this time of chaos, thinking of things that I am grateful for is good too.
The “lockdown” has been stressful in many ways, ways we all can relate to. On Sunday’s we usually do things, more than just running errands. Its tough to not be able to go out to dinner or catch a movie. I think twice, or more than twice going out to run errands and at least try to group them toghether so I can get them done in one outting.
I can’t find gloves or masks now that the CDC recommends covering our faces when out. Part of me only wants to comply so I don’t get that side eye from others for not doing my part, but at the same time I am happy to do what I need to do to get through this trying time.
So what am I grateful for today. Open windows, the noise of neighbors, the smells of spring, and fresh air in the house. All of that. The simple life of suburbia on the weekend.
