It’s Monday, right? I don’t know about you, but the days are blending together. I appreciate the morning radio show saying the day of the week as often as they. Even so, I still find myself asking the same question of what day it is several times over the course of the day. My biggest fear is thinking it is the weekend and it actually being a weekday and be late for work. (Okay, maybe not my biggest fear but it’s a good one that I’m sure many can relate to.)
One way that I find helpful remembering what day it is is meal planning. Each week I plan out what I will be making for dinner. It gives me peace to do this. I can plan out my grocery trips and thaw things out ahead of time. Someone said one of the problems of being an adult is having to figure out what to make for dinner every day, for the rest of your life. Knowing that tomorrow I am making shrimp risotto in the Instant Pot for dinner tonight and Friday is always takeout gives me a sense of what day it is.
Added bonus, I get to write it on the chalkboard on the fridge so I can see it and remind myself how to plan out the evening. It’s fun to write it all out and use the chalk markers. Dorky, but still satisfying for me. If you can see the picture, there’s even a spot for a grocery list as things get used up. Not going to help me pick up the wrong things at the store, but at least I can plan things out.
