Gratitude in Solitude Day 12

Day 12 and we’re almost half way through this month that feels SOOOOOO long.

Today’s moment of gratitude is about my nails. When I was a kid I would bite my nails (and drive my Mom crazy too). I started to get “good” nails when I started massage school where I had to cut them short because eeew gross dealing with other people’s epithelial and keeping things sanitary. Ironic topic with all the social distancing and how people don’t understand how gloves work, but its okay.

So, today, I am proud to show off my newest “mancure”. I get the best reactions from everyone about my nails now. It is a combination of 10,000 mg of biotin plus a prenatal vitamin and the use of a different way to “polish” my nails.

I used to polish my nails, have them chip a day later and then deal with them for a week before I had the time to clean them and repolish them and then have 30-60 min to let them dry and still risk screwing them up.

Now I use nail stickers. Yes, the truth is out and I use nail polish stickers. I’ve gotten some off Amazon and Wish, but most of them come from Color Street. My contact is Kelli’s Cool Nails and these are great nail “stickers” but it really is nail polish that is ready to apply and wears for 1-2 weeks, some get more than that.

The cool thing is that it does less damage to my nails and my nails are very delicate to start with. I haven’t had to use nail polish remover in months and that includes the glitter nail polish too. Anyone who has ever had glitter nail polish knows how hard it is to remove. This stuff is EASY and then you can try something new.

I do try to take a day off between applications to let my nails breath, but it really isn’t necessary.

One of the bonuses of the nail stickers is that it stops me picking at the flaws of my nails. My nails chip and break easily, but using these have kept me from going nuts on them and will even let a split that is too low to be cut and I can go a week or so, without picking at it too much, and let the nail grow out.

I finally have pretty nails!

Note: I was not compensated for my raving about Color Street Nails. I just like the product!
