Gratitude in Solitude Days 9-11

I’ve been busy with real-life stuff (pesky day job) and have not been able to post the last few days. Hopefully, that is all over and I’ll be able to post more often and I can continue on this month’s challenge and start to get creative as well.

Day 9 (Thursday). My education. I really am grateful for my education, both my associate’s degree and my bachelor’s degree. Many of you know that I recently (2015) finished my bachelor’s degree with Thomas Edison State University. I am very proud of this accomplishment and it has helped me career-wise but one of those things I wanted to finish. But what I was specifically grateful for was my associate’s degree in massage therapy. I was sore from work, mostly neck and shoulders. My knowledge of the muscles, classes on stretching, and my skills of massage all came in handy, all puns intended, to help my shoulders and neck settle down and feel better by the time I went to bed that night.

Day 10 (Friday) Pizza! Is there anything better than a decent pizza? Well, yes, having it delivered to my door after a long week. I look forward to pizza Friday every week. Actually, we don’t have pizza every Friday. It’s some kind of takeout. Lately, my youngest has been craving panzerotti’s and it was nice to switch things up. But last night, I wanted a real pizza and it was amazing. Although plain pizza is always a good thing, I usually order an “all the meats” pie and it did not disappoint. Pizza makes me happy and I even will enjoy the leftover slices if my youngest doesn’t eat them first.

Day 11 (Saturday) This brings us to today. Today I am grateful for my washer and dryer. Laundry is inevitable and I have been very lucky in life to always live somewhere with a washer and dryer. Sure, I’ve been to laundromats before (memories of Advanced GSAR school right there), but for the most part I’ve had the use of these amazing machines. Having three kids makes a lot of dirty laundry that needs to be cleaned. I’ve had weeks, months, years where I would do a load of laundry a day. Now, its down to about 1 to 2 times a week plus the occasional load of towels or when I want to wash the winter blankets before putting them away for the season. It is a good time saver for me to have it in house and I feel fortunate to have these machines in my life.
